In a move to strengthen the pillars of national integrity, the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions embarked on a comprehensive oversight mission on October 29th, 2025. The delegation, headed by its Chairman, Distinguished Senator Neda Imasuen, engaged with the leadership of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), and the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).
The exercise went beyond a routine check, serving as a hands-on assessment of how public resources are managed. The committee delved into the specifics of budget execution, project timelines, and the tangible outcomes delivered by these agencies, ensuring alignment with the purposes for which funds were allocated.
“Our mandate is not merely to find fault, but to fortify,” Senator Imasuen remarked. He clarified that the committee’s goal is to champion good governance by both demanding accountability and providing the necessary support to address challenges that impede these institutions from performing optimally for the citizens they serve.
